Public Health Communication Specialist

Position Summary Jefferson County Public Health is seeking a Public Health Communication Specialist. The specialist will work within a team to build engaging and informative communication platforms that strategically disseminate time-sensitive emergency, educational, and general information about the department, its services, and programs. Platforms may include social media, website, print media, and outreach at public events. Responsibilities Develop and manage content for a variety of communication platforms. Create and maintain social media, website, and print media materials. Design and produce graphics for social media and other internet-based communications. Coordinate outreach at public events to promote department services. Qualifications Associate’s degree (A.A.) in a computer-related field, journalism, public relations, communications, or a related field. Two (2) years of related experience in web production or website management. Two (2) years of experience with graphic design software and related tools used for social media and internet-based communications. Compensation & Benefits Union: UFCW, 40 hours per week. Grade: 28, starting pay typically $28.71 per hour, range $28.71–$34.28 per hour, depending on experience. Full medical benefits, including dental and vision.
