Safety and Security Officer, Non-Armed

Job Description Summary Protective Services Security Officer responsible for operating and maintaining weapons scanning equipment, enforcing facility policies, monitoring CCTV, intervening in confrontations, and documenting incidents. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency procedures, alarm response, evacuation, and disaster plans. Responsibilities and Duties 90% – Operate and maintain weapons scanning equipment; enforce OhioHealth facility policies regarding parking, visitation, drug, tobacco, and weapons; monitor CCTV for escalated situations; intervene in patient, visitor, or staff confrontations; complete incident documentation; demonstrate emergency procedures; work independently to determine correct response and initiate actions. 10% – Perform any function and/or training assigned by leadership; reserve right to modify assignments, training levels, and competency requirements; assigned home work location but may float to other locations based on team needs. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (Required) BLS Certified (Basic Life Support – American Heart Association) Driver’s License (DL) – Department of Motor Vehicles Additional Job Description Computer skills; MSDS and safety knowledge; excellent written and verbal communication; mental and physical capability to complete training for, participate in, and maintain certifications to operate weapons scanning equipment.
