About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Candidates must have stepdown or progressive care experience. Candidates must have telemetry experience. Candidates must have experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications. Description: Unit Information: The unit has 40 beds. Staffing includes a charge nurse, bedside nurses, patient care technicians, and a unit secretary. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:4, with stretch staffing at a 1:5 ratio. Patients may include those with CHF, MI, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and those post cardiac procedures. Typical equipment includes Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, bladder scanners, and EMR systems. Skill Set: Candidates are preferred to have experience with prostacyclins. Relief charge experience is also a plus. Typical procedures performed include bedside cardioversion. Best personality fit includes being flexible, having a positive attitude, being a great team player, and displaying compassion. Floating areas may include all medical surgical units, stepdown units, and emergency holding. Dress code requires all white or navy blue scrubs or a white top with navy blue pants. Weekends and on-call may be required every other weekend. No additional comments.
