Job Title Nurse PD Department Medicine/Coronary Care Hiring Pay Scale $91.16 / Hour Worksite Hillcrest Appointment Type Per Diem Appointment Percent 20% Union NX Contract Total Openings 1 Work Schedule Nights, 12-Hour Shifts, Sunday-Saturday Unit Description 10 East is a 26-bed acute care progressive care unit with an average 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio. The patient population consists of high-acuity adult cardiac and medicine patients. Interventions include continuous cardiac monitoring, continuous IV infusions (e.g., insulin, heparin, amiodarone, bumetanide, diltiazem, dopamine, furosemide, milrinone, nicardipine, octreotide), non-invasive mechanical ventilation (BIPAP/CPAP), invasive pressure monitoring, and management of alcohol withdrawal. 10 East Medicine has a broad mix of nursing staff. We have new graduate nurses just starting their journey into the nursing profession as well as seasoned nurses with over 20 years of experience. Our nurses’ educational backgrounds vary from ADN to BSN to MSN. Nurses on 10 East Medicine also participate in shared governance at both the unit and organizational levels, contributing to the overall goals of UC San Diego Health’s Nursing Strategic Plan, the development of professional nursing practice, and improved quality outcomes. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. RN License issued by the State of California. BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to obtain ART (UC San Diego Health Advanced Resuscitation Training) within six (6) months of hire date. At least two (2) years of recent acute care RN experience at the IMU/PCU level of care. Solid understanding of nursing-sensitive indicators relevant to PCU/IMU and integration into daily practice to promote quality and safety outcomes. Demonstrates critical thinking and clinical skills to identify and implement nursing interventions and evaluate results for complex, evolving patient conditions within a stepdown setting. Ability to critically handle unexpected challenges and create solutions with a patient-centered approach. Function in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, consistently demonstrating empathy and kindness to all staff and patients. Excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all disciplines of staff, including technologists, physicians, advanced practice providers, and patients, both verbally and in writing. Preferred Qualifications

BSN/MSN.

Three (3+) years of experience at the IMU/PCU level of care. Experience with Medicine and/or Cardiac Patient Populations. PCCN Certification. Recent experience with navigating and charting within electronic medical records. Bilingual English/Spanish. Special Conditions Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $190,342 - $190,342 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $91.16 - $91.16.
