An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work in a contract role supporting high school students in a self-contained, functional curriculum classroom. This welcoming and collaborative setting features support from two paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician, ensuring a well-staffed and positive learning environment. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through May 26, 2027, with a strong likelihood of extension into subsequent school years for candidates who demonstrate strong performance.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification in Special Education with content coverage through 8th grade
• Adapted Curriculum Endorsement required; consideration given to those with pending credentials
• Experience working with students with significant support needs preferred
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction to high school students in a lower functioning, self-contained special education classroom setting
• Utilize a functional curriculum tailored to meet students’ individual learning goals
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician to implement individualized education plans
• Monitor progress, adapt instruction as needed, and participate in IEP meetings
• Maintain clear documentation and communication with staff and families
