Direct Support Professional-AFL Provider

Job Title Direct Support Professional Responsibilities Providing direct care: Assist individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration. De‑escalation management: Implement strategies that foster positive behaviors and reduce challenging ones, helping individuals thrive in a safe environment. Empowering participation: Support individuals in engaging in social and recreational activities that enhance their quality of life. Collaboration: Work hand‑in‑hand with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress, and goals to ensure individuals receive the best care possible. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED: required; additional certifications or education in social work, nursing, or related fields is a plus. Previous experience: working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs is highly preferred. Knowledge of behavior management techniques: the ability to implement them effectively. Valid Driver's License: with reliable transportation and insurance to travel to client homes or community events. Ability to lift and transfer individuals: as needed, and work physically demanding tasks (specific lifting requirements may vary). Strong communication skills: both verbal and written and the ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life.
