Veterinary Technician, Oncology

Location: Waukesha, WI Schedule: Full Time | 4 Ten Hour Shifts Per Week | No Weekends Starting at $24+/hr for Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) and $21+/hr for experienced Veterinary Assistants, based on experience.

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Work closely with Board-Certified Oncologists to manage complex cases and administer life-saving treatments
• Understand the safety protocols for safe administration of chemotherapy.
• Set up chemotherapy procedures, and perform chemotherapy administration.
• Assist in facilitation of imaging and sedation for minor medical procedures.
• Retrieve and prepare medical records in advance of patient visits.
• Acquire complete medical history and assist with treatment recommendations provided by Oncologist.
• Perform all types of venipuncture for all types of blood work and carry out treatment orders to patients.
• Complete estimates, basic record keeping, and update patient charges
• Other duties as needed

What You Bring:

• CVTs will be given the highest consideration
• Minimum of 3 years of technical experience
• Preferred: 1+ years of veterinary oncology experience
• Strong interest in oncology and keen ability to apply knowledge and advance quickly.
• Technical skill set such as restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement and general nursing care experience is needed.
