Trusts and Estates Partner

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Trusts and Estates Partner with a portable book of business to join their practice in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of over 30 attorneys and paralegals, advising clients on complex estate planning, trust administration, wealth preservation, business succession, and probate litigation. Duties Develop comprehensive estate plans tailored to clients' needs and goals. Advise clients on tax implications and strategies to minimize liabilities. Handle probate processes, including court proceedings and asset distribution. Manage and administer trusts in compliance with laws and agreements. Identify and pursue business development opportunities. Requirements Strong foundation in estate planning, tax law, probate law, and trust law. Experience with high net worth families and complex estate planning. Proficiency in estate and gift tax planning, including CRUTS, SLATS, GRATS, FLPs, QPRTs, IDGTs, ILITs. Experience in succession planning, fiduciary accounting, and tax preparation. Excellent communication skills for explaining complex legal concepts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Precision in drafting legal documents. Experience mentoring junior attorneys. Education Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school. Certifications Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Michigan. Skills Active listening and client-focused legal advice.
