Litigation Docketing Specialist - Utah

The Litigation Docketing Specialist will report to the Docketing Manager and is a client focused, detail-oriented position that provides national, multi-jurisdictional litigation docketing support firm-wide. To be successful in this role, a candidate needs a strong knowledge of court rules and procedures in Utah state and federal courts, to independently identify deadlines based on jurisdiction rules. Make entries of litigation deadlines into the docketing database following docketing procedures and methods of entry. Thoroughly reviews filed documents and written docketing requests to ensure all deadlines are identified and docketed. Performs research as needed in the context of verifying applicability of deadlines. Communicates regularly with case teams to gather additional information necessary to accurately maintain case docketing. Handle all case team inquiries and requests in a timely and efficient manner. Monitor internal team inboxes in order to execute on the receipt and retention of all court filings. Monitor cases with the use of various online resources, distributing documents as requested. May support multiple projects assigned by the Docketing Manager or senior team members. Maintains litigation docketing team protocols. Performs additional duties and tasks assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting the firm’s overall objectives. Communication – Understands the importance of and demonstrates verbal, written, and non-verbal communications. Customer/Client Experience – Creates a consistent and exceptional experience for others, whether directly to external clients/customers or indirectly through internal support, that elevates the overall perception of the firm. Job Knowledge & Technical Skill – Demonstrates an understanding of objectives, duties, responsibilities, and expectations of the job with exceptional quality work. Team Player – Works within team and cross-functionally to meet required results. Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification): Two (2) + years of litigation docketing, calendaring and civil procedure experience. Knowledge of various Court websites, litigation procedures, docket searching and document retrieval databases. Proven aptitude to learn new software applications. Ability to read a legal document and conclude if a future deadline is evident. Strong level of knowledge to identify court rules and procedures in Utah state and federal courts. Proven ability to learn and retain new information quickly. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the firm. Ability to handle and maintain confidential or sensitive information. Strong attention to details with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical, data entry, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Schedule: This positions will start as a hybrid role throughout the onboarding period, then transition to a primarily remote schedule. Compensation: Holland & Hart offers of employment take into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance. The Salt Lake City salary range is $28.24 to $47.07 per hour. A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
