Company Description Weigel Broadcasting Co. is a family-owned, multi-platform media company based in Chicago, Illinois. The company owners and operates national television networks such as MeTV, Catchy Comedy, Heroes & Icons, Start TV, Story Television, MeTV Toons, WEST, and the Movies! Network, as well as a variety of local broadcast stations affiliated with major networks. Role Description The Technical Director is a full-time, on-site role based in South Bend, IN, responsible for directing live and recorded television productions in a fast-paced broadcast environment. This role oversees the technical execution of newscasts and sports programming, including switching video sources, operating production equipment, and ensuring high-quality on-air presentation. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with producers, directors, and studio crews to translate rundowns into clean, accurate broadcasts; setting up and verifying studio and control room equipment; and monitoring signal quality and timing. The Technical Director also assists with troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting special projects and remote productions as needed, while maintaining adherence to station and network standards. Qualifications Broadcast production and control room skills, including live switching, graphics integration, and audio coordination. Technical proficiency with studio cameras, video servers, production switchers, routing systems, and related broadcast equipment. Experience following rundowns, timing segments, and coordinating with on-air talent and crew during live broadcasts. Knowledge of industry standards for video, audio, and signal quality, and familiarity with troubleshooting common technical issues. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on production schedules. Relevant experience in television or live event production; prior work in local news, sports, or entertainment programming is beneficial. Associate or bachelor's degree in broadcasting, media production, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
