Purpose: To efficiently perform all activities associated with the performance in the field and supporting the specific objectives of the project manager.  Responsible for the day to day implementation of specific construction tasks in a safe, cost effective and orderly manner.

Reports to: Project Manager

Supervises: All field personnel & subcontractors

Education Requirements: Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.  Project scheduling software experience is preferred but not required.

License/Certification Requirements: 10 hour OSHA certification (Construction).

Experience requirements: 5+ years of experience in the Design/Build construction industry is preferable.

Skills/Knowledge: Ability to work at/with all levels of an organization, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to shift gears when necessary, strong organizational and communicative skills, strong knowledge of the Design/Build construction process, ability to plan and schedule complex construction schedule, ability to manage multiple crews or trades.

Primary Duties & Tasks:

·       Supervise and coordinate all field operations on the assigned project.

·       Have a complete and thorough understanding of the project drawings and specifications and all of the subcontractor’s scopes of work.  Have a thorough understanding of the project to forecast any potential problems or delays and find effective solutions before causing any negative impacts on project budget or schedule.

·       Review, field verify and approve any applicable shop drawings or approval drawings in the field with assistance from the project manager, if applicable.

·       Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to coordinate material deliveries, material ordering, material issues, and any other conflicts or problems that arise.

·       Document any addendums, construction bulletins, RFI’s and field modifications to the drawings.  Maintain a set of as built plans throughout the duration of the project.  Ensure that each subcontractor is complying with all drawings and specifications.

·       Inspect all work, point out any deficiencies and have poor workmanship corrected.

·       Assist with the formulation of a master project schedule and maintain a “three week look ahead” schedule on a weekly basis to assist in keeping to the master schedule.

·       Implementation of the project schedule.  Monitor construction schedules and ensure adequate manpower and timely completion.  Coordinate work with all subcontractors to maintain the job schedule.

·       Attend regular weekly scheduling meetings at the office and review the project schedule and any important points with the company.

·       Attend any applicable project review meetings with the project manager and client.

·       Implement, monitor, and review company’s safety program for the assigned project.  It is important to ensure that the job site meets all OSHA requirements and regulations.

·       Maintain a clean, organized and orderly job site.

·       Conduct a weekly job site safety self-inspection.

·       Hold weekly job site safety meetings with all subcontractors, if the job warrants.

·       Set up field office and ensure the field office has all the required postings, signs, safety manuals, SDS manuals (refer to the job site safety checklist).

·       Maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, architects, inspectors and the project owner and communicate with all of the above when needed.

·       Acknowledge, understand, and live the J.A Wagner core values.

·       Complete all paperwork in a timely manner:

1.       Three week look ahead schedule, in conjunction with project schedule.

2.       Daily work reports, project logs, safety meetings and job site safety inspections.

3.       SWPPP self-inspection reports when applicable.

4.       Record executed work on field set of plans daily.

·       Perform any other duties assigned by the project manager.

·       Use time efficiently and effectively and be able to recognize and handle changing priorities.

·       Perform routine duties independently with minimal direction or supervision.

·       Recognize and perform tasks that are expected before given specific directions.

·       Consistently report to work on time and when the project requires.

·       Accept other duties assigned to you as needed.
