Member Service Representative

The role of the Member Service Representative is to assist members and prospective members with all areas of their Credit Union needs. Efficiently and independently process financial transactions, explain services, set up new accounts, respond to problems, and direct members to the appropriate person(s)/department. Ensure sales, service, and operational functions are performed efficiently and within guidelines. Support and assist members through all communication channels to include in‑branch, incoming and outbound calls, message center and email. Performs routine member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, check cashing, cashier’s checks, Visa gift cards, reloadable travel cards, and issues debit cards. Opens and closes all types of accounts, maintaining required signatures and documents. Answers questions and assists in resolving problems by listening, asking clarifying questions, and identifying solutions. Maintains a professional and courteous attitude with co‑workers, members, management, board members, and outside vendors. Supports other branch locations and the Contact Center as needed. Follows safety and security rules and helps maintain branch condition and appearance. Participates in all training and continuing education classes as approved or recommended by supervisors, including online training. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience. Other Skills: Able to operate a PC and related software with average speed and accuracy; possesses time‑management and organizational skills; experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint desired. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand at a computer for extended periods and lift up to 15 pounds. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills for members and employees in person, electronically, and by phone; diplomacy, discretion, and tact in conflict resolution and relationship building. Work Environment: In‑office.
