Employees will provide full software development lifecycle services spanning the design, development, test, and deployment of innovative software solutions with a strong emphasis on user experience, human factors, and software quality to enhance FAA operations.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and deploy computer software solutions.Conduct feasibility analysis, problem definition, requirements development, and solution development.Document and demonstrate solutions by creating documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.Follow the software development lifecycle to ensure high-quality deliverables.Apply Agile Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies to ensure efficient and iterative development processes.Design and develop solutions to be hosted in the cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure), ensuring scalability, security, and performance optimization.Utilize database solutions such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Oracle.Emphasize user experience and human factors in the software design process to ensure the solutions are intuitive, user-friendly, and compliant with Section 508 accessibility requirements.Required QualificationsSuccessfully pass an FAA background investigation/verification and receive a successful final suitability determination.Proven experience in software design, development, testing, and deployment.Strong background in systems analysis and requirements development.Proficiency in using modern programming languages and tools, including Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, and SQL.Experience with modern software development methodologies such as Agile Scrum and Scaled Agile development.Knowledge of modern cloud and database solutions and platforms.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration abilities.U.S. citizen or green card permanent resident who has resided in the U.S. for 3+ years  Travel will vary per project. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked.
