Clinical Associate (Per Diem)

Job Overview The Clinical Associate (CA) assists with the daily operations of Student Health Services (SHS). The CA will help schedule appointments, room patients, perform intake, maintain inventory, and complete other related tasks. Responsibilities Assist with scheduling appointments using telephone triage protocols and prioritize high‑risk patients. Support Front Desk and clinical teams in daily operations, including rooming and intake of patients. Inspect, stock, clean, and prepare exam rooms, log these actions daily. Monitor patient arrival, wait times, and prioritize care for those with longer wait times or urgent needs. Assist SHS Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses in patient treatment and various procedures (bleeding control, orthopedics, suturing, CPR, supplemental oxygen, etc.). Perform measurements and screening procedures (height, weight, head circumference, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, audiometry, vision testing) and record findings in the Electronic Medical Record. Collect and label blood, urine, throat cultures, buccal smears, and route specimens according to standard procedure. Assist with laboratory functions and operate the glucose analyzer as trained. Document all procedures in the medical record and ensure charts are countersigned by a Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse. Collaborate with team members to support AAAHC accreditation and serve on the accreditation task force. Perform additional related duties, including special projects, as required. Qualifications EMT certification or a minimum of one year working in a medical office. AHA BLS/ACLS upon hire. Minimum of one year full‑time experience in a pre‑hospital or hospital setting. Ability to evaluate multiple data elements and interpret them in real time. Excellent verbal communication skills, including telephone skills and clear communication with patients, families, and staff. Preferred Qualifications No additional preferred qualifications listed.
