Community Relations Manager

Scioto Properties is seeking a Full-time Community Relations Manager who will be responsible for building and strengthening strategic relationships that expand the organization’s housing opportunities for providers serving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). In partnership with the Business Development Team, this role identifies market opportunities across the country, emerging needs, and potential partnerships that support the organization’s growth and development of new housing solutions. This position leverages market knowledge and relationship-building to advance opportunities aligned with the organization’s strategic priorities and long-term goals. RESPONSIBILITIES

Executes against the strategic direction and priorities established by the Business Development Team Leaders, exercising independent judgment to translate organizational objectives into proactive outreach, cross-functional business development efforts, market research, relationship development, and follow-up strategies that advance business development goals. Develops, cultivates, and strategically manages high-value relationships with county boards of developmental disabilities, I/DD associations, provider organizations, councils of governments, public agencies, advocates, and other community stakeholders to advance organizational priorities, strengthen community partnerships, and identify opportunities for growth and collaboration. Serves as an external liaison for key stakeholders, representing the organization’s capabilities and value proposition, assessing emerging community and market needs, and cultivating partnership opportunities that support organizational growth and strategic objectives. Represents the organization at conferences, association meetings, provider gatherings, and community events, exercising independent judgment to identify and prioritize high-value engagement opportunities, maximize exhibitor and networking activities, generate qualified business leads, and develops and executes timely follow-up strategies to advance organizational objectives. Conducts strategic analysis of Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), supportive and affordable housing initiatives, funding programs, policy developments, market trends, and emerging community needs to identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities aligned with I/DD services and the organization’s strategic growth objectives. Synthesizes research findings and stakeholder insights into strategic market intelligence, independently developing and prioritizing provider target lists, relationship maps, housing-need assessments, and opportunity briefs that inform business development strategy, support decision-making, and advance organizational growth objectives. Independently identifies, evaluates, and cultivates housing opportunities with I/DD service providers and community partners, exercising sound business judgment to assess market potential, prioritize high-value prospects, develop relationships, and advance qualified opportunities through the business development pipeline. Owns the integrity, timeliness, and utilization of CRM data related to provider relationships, housing needs, outreach activities, conference leads, follow-up actions, and opportunity status, ensuring accurate information is available to inform business development strategy, prioritization, and decision-making. Works cooperatively with others in the office and maintains a good attitude. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Special Education, Public Administration, Health Care Administration, or related field. 3 - 5 or more years of proven experience on a county board, state run developmental disability agency, or similar role. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
