Applied AI/ML Engineer Lead - Banking Research

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in applied artificial intelligence and machine learning, with at least five years of applied experience
• A masters or doctoral degree in computer science, machine learning, statistics, or a related quantitative field
• Demonstrated experience designing machine learning experiments and evaluations, with clear metrics and reproducible results
• A track record of deploying machine learning applications to production with strong monitoring, reliability, and lifecycle management
• Strong software engineering skills in modern programming languages and machine learning frameworks, including experience building reusable components
• Experience with distributed computing for training and serving, and state management for agent workflows
• Ability to lead through influence across cross-functional teams and explain complex technical topics to varied audiences
• Preferred: Experience building and evaluating autonomous agent systems, including planning, tool use, orchestration, and multi-agent coordination
• Preferred: Experience with cloud-based machine learning platforms such as Amazon SageMaker or Amazon Bedrock
• Preferred: Publications, open-source contributions, or other evidence of applied research impact in machine learning or generative AI
• Preferred: Familiarity with financial services and operational processes, including risk-aware design and production constraints

• Architect and deliver generative AI and agent-based solutions that automate complex operational workflows end to end
• Turn priority business problems into research and engineering plans, measurable success criteria, and scalable designs
• Build multi-agent systems that coordinate tasks reliably and improve through feedback and evaluation
• Develop reusable services, libraries, and reference architectures to support adoption across applied AI teams
• Establish rigorous experimentation practices, including offline and online evaluation, ablation testing, and error analysis
• Mentor and develop applied AI engineers and researchers, fostering scientific rigor, ownership, and continuous learning
• Work with business and technology stakeholders to scale solutions responsibly while balancing performance, reliability, and security
