Shift Details

Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
Position Type: Full-Time, Hospital Setting
Availability: Requires 8/24 or 9/14 hard start only
Schedule: Sunday - Saturday, with floating required across the organization (5 hospitals throughout SD)
Weekend Commitment: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week cycle and at least one holiday, including the holiday weekend

Job Requirements & Qualifications

Licensure: RN license in California (Temporary or Permanent, no EMSA)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA required for BLS, ACLS)
Relevant Experience:
- Minimum of 1.5 years continuous experience in specialty
- Prior charge experience required (2 years preferred)
- Travel experience of at least 1 year, with 6+ months of continuous travel experience leading up to submission
Charting System Experience: Required experience with EPIC within the last 6 months
Patient Care Experience:
- Experience in Medical Surgical and Telemetry units
- Experience in Trauma Level I or similar settings

Clinical Skills Required

Accessing and managing ports
Arterial line management
Care of ventilated patients
Central line care and management
CVA/Acute Stroke management
Blood product administration
Management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Emergency medication administration
Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
Experience with high acuity care, including advanced monitoring techniques

Unit Details

Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics
Census: Varies across the system, with five hospitals involved
Interdisciplinary Support: Includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and more
Special Procedures/Unit Information: Trauma, Medical, and Surgical Intensive Care

Floating Requirements

Ability to float within specialty units as required, which may occasionally involve floating to another campus or location based on needs.

Additional Information

Pre-Approved Time Off: Up to 7 days maximum
Module Completion: Non-billable modules of 8 hours required to be completed pre-start prior to documentation due date
