Bus Driver
The Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations in a timely and efficient manner while ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operates charter buses to transport passengers to various destinations, following scheduled routes/stops and adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure the vehicle is in good operating condition
- Provides outstanding customer service, creating a positive and safe experience for passengers
- Ensures timely departure and arrival at all destinations and familiarity with routing
- Ability to maintain clear communications with dispatch to report any delays, mechanical issues or other concerns that may impact the charter
Education and/or Experience, Licensure and Certification
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate
- Must have and maintain a valid Arizona Class B CDL with passenger endorsement
- Must obtain/maintain a current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler's Certification (within first 90 days of employment)
- Must have a current DOT medical card
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of commercial driving experience with passengers
- Must have a clean motor vehicle record with no major violations
Knowledge, Ability and Skills
Must be punctual, reliable and professional
Working Conditions and Driving
Travel between Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley site and schools and various field trip sites as well as in the community is required. Must meet the insurance standards of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley. Work is primarily performed in the Club and local community. Hours are based on school calendar evening/weekend hours are required; hours will vary during summer and school breaks; occasional weekend hours are required
