Oates Energy is a fast-growing provider of utility submetering and billing solutions for residential and commercial properties. We help property owners recover utility costs efficiently through innovative technology, accurate billing practices, and exceptional customer support. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our remote operations team.

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for assisting customers and residents with account, billing, payment, and service-related questions. This role serves as an important point of contact between Oates Energy and the customers we support.

The ideal candidate is professional, patient, organized, and comfortable communicating with customers by phone, email, and other digital channels. The ability to listen carefully, identify customer needs, and provide accurate information is essential.

• Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and other approved communication channels
  
• Assist customers with billing, account, payment, and service-related questions
  
• Review customer account information and provide accurate responses
  
• Research customer concerns and work toward timely resolutions
  
• Explain account information, billing details, and applicable procedures clearly
  
• Document customer interactions and account updates accurately
  
• Process customer requests and account changes according to established procedures
  
• Identify billing or account discrepancies and route issues to the appropriate internal team
  
• Follow up on open customer issues and service requests
  
• Maintain professional and courteous communication with customers
  
• Work with billing, operations, and other internal teams to resolve customer concerns
  
• Protect customer information and follow company privacy and data-handling procedures
  
• Meet established service, quality, and response-time expectations
  
• Assist with other customer-service and administrative responsibilities as assigned
  

• Previous experience in customer service, call center, administration, billing, or a related field preferred
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• Strong listening and problem-solving abilities
  
• Professional and customer-focused approach
  
• Comfortable using computers, email, and web-based applications
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  
• Ability to manage multiple customer requests and priorities

• Reliable internet connection and appropriate workspace for remote work
  
• Experience with billing, utility services, property management, or account-support systems is a plus
  
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
