Vice President, FFIO Risk

The Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) Risk Team within Fidelity’s Corporate Services function is looking for a passionate, hard-working Vice President to help support the business in identifying, monitoring and mitigating risks associated with Fidelity’s fund and investment operations. As Vice President of Risk, you will report to the Head of Risk for FFIO, and you will lead a team that has responsibility for proactively identifying risks within FFIO’s business and helping FFIO management develop and enhance controls to mitigate risks and protect the interests of the firm and our customers. In this role, you will develop strong relationships with senior leaders within the FFIO organization and partner closely with them to drive a risk program that is suited to their service line. Your team will also participate in FFIO incident management activities and lead many key risk programs (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and SOC1), and routines that contribute to FFIO’s operational health.FFIO provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. These services include calculating and distributing NAVs, distribution rates and yields for a wide variety of investment products; preparing fund financial statements, dividend estimates and tax returns; monitoring delivery of fund trades to custodian banks; processing corporate actions; collecting securities income on behalf of the funds; reconciling, reporting and moving money in support of fund shareholder transactions; and managing data fund and investment data. FFIO is also responsible for providing operational and accounting support to Fidelity’s expanding Alternative Fund business. The Expertise and Skills You BringThis role requires a strong background and prior experience in collaborating and building trust with leaders in the firm, as well as deep experience in Fund and Investment Operations. The VP of Risk must be capable of seamlessly oscillating between tactical risk issue response and management of more strategic longer-term initiatives. This role also requires strong collaboration and engagement with peers/leaders across Asset Management, the Risk Testing Center of Excellence, and external auditors. In this role, you will work with the FFIO Risk Leadership Team to help drive the strategic direction and execution of risk support for the highly complex and rapidly changing FFIO business. Additional expertise includes: 15 years of Risk Management, Audit and/or Investment Operations experience. Understanding of complex middle and back-office investment operations a plusExperience evaluating operational, financial, technology, compliance and reputational risks and helping the business develop solutions to mitigate areas of riskAbility to help drive and foster a strong risk management mindset within the businessDemonstrated ability to build and develop high performing teams and develop associatesExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information to business leadersProven problem-solving skills, including experience leveraging data analyticsBachelors’ Degree and Certified Public Accounting certification (CPA) preferredThe TeamThis position is within the Risk organization that supports Fidelity’s Fund and Investment Operations, Corporate Services (CS), Global Site (GS) business lines, and Enterprise Resiliency and Crisis Management, and reports directly to the Head of FFIO Risk. More broadly, the function sits within the Fidelity Risk Group, which includes the major Risk functions from across the enterprise and employs a range of Risk Management programs and capabilities. Central to the Risk Group’s mission is close collaboration with partners throughout the Firm – including Business Leaders, Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Security – in pursuit of our common goal of protecting the Firm, its associates, and customers.Fidelity’s Onsite Working ModelFidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
