About This Role The Assistant Manager, Patient Care - 2 North is responsible for managing team members and operations within a patient care unit during assigned shifts. Highlights Location: Huntington, NY Facility: Northwell Health Schedule: Full-time What You’ll Do Manages and leads team members, operations, and patient care activities within a patient care unit during assigned shift. Collaborates with team members and nursing management in the development of methods, techniques, and analytical approaches to patient care. Communicates, builds consensus, and guides team members toward achieving department objectives. Promotes and maintains high-quality patient and family-centered care in a healing environment. Creates a professional work environment that encourages team member respect, engagement, accountability, and optimal patient outcomes. Promotes appreciative inquiry and evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate practice. Provides direction and guidance to patient care unit team members during assigned shift. May conduct performance reviews and provide input into hiring, promotions, and corrective actions. Serves as a role model for standards of professional practice (clinical, educational, and leadership). Educates team members in new and existing department procedures and systems. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Experience: 4-6 years of nursing experience required. 0-2 years of leadership/management experience required. Licenses & Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required. ANCC certification required within one year of hire.
