Speech and Language Pathologist

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech/Language Pathologist to join our team at Joel Barlow High School. The successful candidate will work with students to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders, enabling them to communicate effectively and achieve academic success. This full-time position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students in a collaborative and supportive educational environment.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication needs across all settings.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide training and resources to teachers and staff to enhance communication strategies within the classroom.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies and state regulations.

Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech/Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with adolescents in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
- Knowledge of speech and language development, assessment tools, and therapeutic techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to professional development and staying informed about current trends in speech-language pathology.
