Youth Care Specialist

Position Overview A Youth Care Specialist in Thompson’s youth residential programs provides supervision, support, and therapeutic relationships to youth aged 0‑18, ensuring a clean, safe environment and fulfilling regulatory documentation. Responsibilities Supervise, support, guide, and build therapeutic relationships with the youth under your care. Engage with youth in the program, provide direction, structure, and support for their physical and physiological needs. Schedule and participate in activities, ensuring the physical milieu remains clean and safe. Complete daily documentation as required by regulatory standards and transport clients to appointments and activities. Be prepared to travel to various residential facilities within the Lebanon area. Work a rotating schedule: 1st Shift (7 am‑7 pm) or 2nd Shift (7 pm‑7 am) with week patterns Monday, Thursday, Friday (Week 1) and Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday (Week 2). Benefits and Compensation Starting Pay Range: $18.50 – $22.00 per hour based on experience (salary description: $19.50 – $22.50). Full‑time benefits include 3 weeks paid time off the first year, 10 paid holidays, health, dental, vision, short‑term and long‑term disability, life insurance, 401K match, education reimbursement. Clinical supervision reimbursement of $60 for eligible candidates obtaining licensure. Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through FAFSA after 10 years of service. Qualifications Valid driver’s license and meet program credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards. High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum one year of experience in a residential youth or adult operation or related child and family services experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be at least 21 years old.
