Accounting Clerk

Are you a detail-oriented and computer-savvy individual with a passion for accounting? We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team! This role involves handling Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and various administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Process purchase orders, accounts payable, and accounts receivable using a computerized system Maintain vendor and customer records Prepare financial and statistical reports using MS Excel Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payments for vendors and customers Maintain and update asset records and assist with year-end tax forms Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and assist with cash deposits Perform additional administrative duties to support the efficiency of the department What We're Looking For: A self-starter who can follow detailed instructions and work independently Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Good communication and interpersonal skills Familiarity with accounting practices and processes, including MS Dynamics and MS Excel A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required; additional education in accounting and 1-3 years of accounting clerical experience preferred Requirements: Must have a valid Virginia driver's license Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Benefits Affordable health plan with low deductible and out of pocket maximums, pension plan through City of Roanoke, personal retirement 457 plan with employer match, company provided life insurance, tuition assistance, generous paid leave accruals.
