Job Summary The RN Resource Pool PRN I assesses, plans, implements, and assists with the provision of care for assigned patients. This position will be responsible for directing patient care for licensed and ancillary staff on the team. The RN Resource Pool requires validated competency to float to various patient care areas and is committed to working a minimum number of shifts as per the RN PRN Workplan agreement. Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities Perform complete data collection from patients regarding age and developmental stage, presenting complaints, and pertinent history. Deliver nursing care to assigned group of patients, including education directed toward identified knowledge deficits, treatment planning, pain management and discharge planning using the nursing process. Deliver quality nursing care while minimizing the risk of infection, contamination, harm, or injury. Participate in performance improvement processes within the Network, Hospital, and department. Anticipate deteriorating life sign patterns or equipment malfunctions and take appropriate action. Conduct specified bedside laboratory tests. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions. Monitor, record, and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s condition. Record patients’ medical information and vital signs. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing. One year of experience practicing as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility. Float to patient care areas based on requisite competencies and certifications. Current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas or proof of reciprocity of licensure between the State of Texas and another state; must be maintained throughout employment. Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment. Maintain required certifications for the patient care areas assigned to throughout employment. Successful completion of general nursing and unit‑specific competency‑based orientation program within 90 days. Pass EKG test within 90 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications None.
