Permit Technician

Job Summary The Town of Prosper is currently seeking a qualified and dedicated individual for the position of Permit Technician. Possession of an ICC Permit Technician Certification and/or obtain within one year of employment. Must possess Texas Class C Driver License. Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening and/or post‑offer physical exam. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Responsibilities Under general supervision of the Permit Technician Manager, this position provides excellent customer service to contractors, residents, and developers. Processes building permit applications, maintains databases to track information on permits, plan review, building inspections, code enforcement, and health inspections. Registers contractors, calculates permit fees, answers semi‑technical inquiries from the public and accepts payments. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee must have the ability to maintain concentration in the midst of interruptions and background noise.
