Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with special education needs as a contract paraprofessional in a collaborative elementary school setting. This full-time role offers the unique opportunity to work within self-contained resource classrooms, helping students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Your patience and dedication will be key in creating a positive, nurturing environment for all learners.
Key Qualifications:
- Active GaPSC Paraprofessional Educator Certificate preferred; candidates without must have at least an Associate’s degree or have taken the Para GACE exam
- Previous experience working in special education or ABA settings highly valued
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability when supporting students with a variety of needs
- Comfort with assisting students with toileting and daily living tasks as needed
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support and assist students in self-contained special education classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers to implement lesson plans and individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Support students with various disabilities, encouraging independence and inclusion
- Assist with personal care and hygiene tasks when necessary
- Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment for all students
- Monitor and document student progress and behaviors, communicating effectively with the educational team
This contract role is full-time, covering 37.5 hours per week and continues through the end of the 2026-2027 school year. The school values professionals who foster encouragement and structure for students, offering a stable schedule within a dedicated support team.
