Material Handler - Shipping

Job TitlePrimarily responsible for the support of the DC by efficiently sorting, scanning, staging and wrapping merchandise. The Department Material Handler also checks merchandise and ensures the product is loaded and checked in the proper delivery sequence by customer stop code.Shift: Monday - Friday: 12PM - 8PMPay: $19.00 and upSpecific Responsibilities:Must understand how to read truck loading forecast summary.Must be able to set up a truck run by truck load forecast summary.Must be able to identify and sort by customer stop code.Must be able to operate a handheld scanner.Understand how to stack pallets appropriately to avoid customer service issues.Must understand how to load and secure.Capable of obtaining power equipment certifications; electric power jack, walker/rider, and forklift.Must be able to meet quality standards.Ability to take direction from Supervisor.Communicate any truck run changes with transportation.Excellent attendance and reliable predictability a must.Adheres to DC housekeeping guidelinesPerforms all other tasks and duties as assigned.*indicates nonessentialMinimum Qualifications:High School diploma or GED preferredMust be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing to comply with all safety policies and practices.Excellent attendance recordMust be willing and able to work overtime when neededGood comprehension and organizational skillsAbility to interact effectively with other departments and all levels of managementAbility to maintain records accurately and demonstrate problem solving skillsDemonstrated ability to prioritize work and to meet deadlinesMust be a team player with a can do attitudePower Equipment certification a plusMust be able to read, write, and speak EnglishPhysical Requirements:Must have the ability to meet physical assessment requirements for this positionSee Job Analysis and PPE requirements for this positionNOTE: When duties and responsibilities change and develop, the job description will be reviewed and subject to changes based on business necessity.
