The Company is in search of an Assistant Vice President, Middle Market Property Underwriter to play a pivotal role in driving profitable growth within the middle market property portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting and risk selection, portfolio management, and engaging with brokers and clients. This high-impact, individual contributor position demands a professional with 7-12+ years of commercial property underwriting experience, particularly within the middle market, and a proven track record of success in the Western U.S. market. The role requires a deep understanding of property forms, coverage structures, and CAT modeling, as well as the ability to manage a diverse range of commercial property risks with a focus on profitability and disciplined risk selection. Key responsibilities for the Assistant Vice President, Middle Market Property Underwriter include evaluating, structuring, and pricing commercial property risks, managing an assigned book of business, and building strong relationships with retail and wholesale brokers. The ideal candidate will have established broker relationships in the San Francisco/Northern California market, be adept at portfolio management, and possess the technical expertise to apply advanced modeling tools. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a CPCU or other industry designation is a plus. The role is suited to a self-motivated individual with strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, who can balance production goals with technical rigor and is comfortable operating in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.
