Senior Application Developer

Salary: $100,000 - 100,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• 5–8 years of professional software development experience, including substantial hands-on work developing and supporting production mobile applications.
• Strong experience with Swift, the iOS SDK, Xcode, and native iOS development.
• Experience building and maintaining cross-platform applications with React Native.
• Backend development experience, including REST APIs, integrations, networking, databases, and cloud-connected applications.
• Experience integrating applications with AWS and working with GCP.
• Advanced knowledge of mobile application architecture and design patterns, with the ability to deliver complex applications or features independently.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, including mentoring developers and leading complex projects.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills, along with project estimation, planning, and organizational abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage complex technical work independently.
• Preferred: Experience integrating Bluetooth and BLE devices, including connected consumer products, IoT devices, device discovery, pairing, and plug-and-play connectivity.
• Preferred: Native Android development with Kotlin, Java, Android Studio, and the Android SDK; experience supporting both iOS and Android.
• Preferred: Collaboration with electrical engineering and hardware teams, application performance optimization, production troubleshooting, and full software development lifecycle support.
• Ability to work onsite in Columbia, Missouri, maintain regular and predictable attendance, and occasionally participate in off-hours business meetings or company events.
• Ability to move through facilities and handle equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds; personal protective equipment may be required in manufacturing areas.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States and, where applicable, authorization to access technical data subject to ITAR requirements.

• Design, develop, test, release, and maintain production mobile applications for iOS and/or Android.
• Lead complex application features and projects from technical definition through production deployment, translating business requirements and user needs into technical solutions.
• Develop scalable, maintainable mobile architectures and applications for connected consumer products, ensuring compatibility with mobile operating systems, devices, SDKs, and app-store requirements.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend services, APIs, databases, AWS and GCP services, third-party platforms, and cloud-connected product functionality.
• Maintain secure and reliable communications between mobile applications and backend systems, and troubleshoot application, networking, integration, and performance issues.
• Provide technical direction for mobile development projects, promote development best practices and coding standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor developers.
• Identify architectural concerns, technical risks, and improvement opportunities; lead root-cause analysis and resolution of production issues.
• Provide technical estimates and contribute to project planning.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, product engineers, software developers, product design teams, and other internal stakeholders on connected-product applications and capabilities.
• Develop applications that communicate with electronic consumer products, support Bluetooth and BLE connectivity, and improve device connectivity, functionality, and user experience.
• Develop and maintain automated testing processes, support CI/CD workflows, use Git and established source-control practices, and participate in release planning and production deployments.
• Maintain application performance, security, reliability, accessibility, and usability, and prepare technical documentation, specifications, and testing requirements.
• Communicate technical requirements, project progress, and development challenges while managing complex assignments independently and supporting team objectives.
