Job Title: OR Tech

Shift: Dayshift Hours per Shift: 8 hours (2x8's: 0700-1530, 2x12's: 0700-1930)

Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience required, Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred

License: VA Registration required

Certifications: BLS certification (must be AHA) required

Must-Have: Travel experience (at least 1-2 assignments), team self-scheduling for shifts and call obligations, weekend requirement (2-3 shifts per 6-week schedule period)

Description: The position requires 3-4 weekday call shifts and 3-4 weekend shifts (4 hours) within a 6-week schedule. Candidates should be available for holiday and night rotation as needed by the unit. Holidays require the commitment of at least 1 major holiday. The facility operates 28 OR rooms and utilizes an EMR system. A typical day consists of 70-85 cases. Scrubs will be provided. Weekend shifts include 7-8 ORs on Saturday and 5-6 ORs on Sunday, with a focus on urgent cases and some scheduled surgeries. The OR is open 24/7, 365 days a year. Key service lines include orthopedic surgeries, organ transplants, general surgery, robotics, and pediatric surgery. Neonate and pediatric experience, as well as trauma experience, are preferred. Floating may be required to different ORs based on low census needs. On-call expectations are 5-6 (4-hour) shifts within a 6-week schedule, averaging a maximum of 24 hours.
