Associate Director, Digital & Customer Engagement Strategy

Merck's Animal Health division seeks an Associate Director to serve as strategic liaison between Companion Animals marketing teams and Digital Operations. This hybrid role in Rahway, NJ aligns business priorities across web, email, and digital content into cohesive omnichannel strategies while managing the digital project backlog and reporting campaign performance.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary point of contact between Companion Animals business teams and Digital Operations execution
Align business strategy across web, email/SFMC, and digital content into unified omnichannel strategies
Translate business needs into clear, actionable internal digital briefs with defined objectives and success metrics
Own and prioritize multi-brand digital backlog, balancing urgency, capacity, and strategic value
Consolidate campaign performance data into business-relevant narratives that inform future decisions

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
5+ years digital marketing, marketing operations, or business-facing digital liaison experience
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to translate business needs into executable digital briefs
Experience managing backlog, intake processes, or prioritization frameworks across multiple stakeholders
Working knowledge of digital channels (web, email/SFMC, content, paid/organic) sufficient to scope campaigns
Comfort with performance data and dashboards to build business-relevant reporting narratives
Ability to drive cross-functional execution without formal authority in matrixed environments
