Senior Cost Accountant

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance Maintain and analyze standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead. Validate Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, work centers, and cost roll-ups within ERP systems. Review and explain manufacturing variances, including: Material usage variances Purchase price variances (PPV) Labor efficiency variances Scrap and yield variances Overhead absorption variances Manage inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods. Support cycle counts, annual physical inventories, and inventory reserve analysis. Perform product profitability, margin, and pricing analysis. Partner with operations teams to identify cost reduction opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives. Assist with capital expenditure analysis, fixed asset accounting, and depreciation management. General Accounting & Financial Close Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities. Prepare and review journal entries related to inventory, manufacturing costs, accruals, and reserves. Perform balance sheet reconciliations. Analyze P&L and balance sheet fluctuations and provide management commentary. Support financial statement preparation in accordance with US GAAP. Assist with internal and external audits, including inventory observations and cost accounting support. Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Analyze manufacturing costs, productivity, labor efficiency, and capacity utilization. Prepare operational and financial KPI reporting. Evaluate the impact of production volumes on absorption, unit costs, and gross margins. Systems, Controls & Process Improvement Maintain and improve cost accounting processes and internal controls. Serve as a key accounting partner for ERP systems including SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, Epicor, or similar platforms. Support master data governance and ERP optimization initiatives. Identify opportunities for automation and reporting improvements utilizing Excel, BI tools, and ERP reporting capabilities. Tax & Compliance Support tax preparation and compliance activities. Ensure adherence to US GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements, including ITAR where applicable. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of: Standard costing Inventory valuation Manufacturing variances Cost accounting principles Solid US GAAP knowledge. Experience participating in month-end and year-end close activities. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Index-Match, and financial analysis. Experience with manufacturing ERP systems. Strong analytical and communication skills. Must be a U.S. Person due to export control requirements. #J-18808-Ljbffr
