Cardiology - Locum Physician

Job Title: Cardiologist Location: Ketchikan, Alaska Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM x 5 Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension. Pay Rate: $247 - $266/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Cardiologist for a temporary assignment in Ketchikan, Alaska. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Cardiologist:

• Provide outpatient cardiology services at 0.25 FTE, working 4-5 days per month, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm
• See an average of 14-16 adult and geriatric patients per day in a clinic/outpatient setting
• Work independently as the sole cardiologist on site, supported by family medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics, orthopedics, general surgery, emergency department, and hospitalist teams
• Maintain active Alaska (AK) medical license (MD/DO) at time of start
• Maintain current BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross
• Demonstrate proficiency in the Epic EMR system for clinical documentation
• Provide documentation of cardiovascular disease services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested within the previous 24 months
• Adhere to COVID-19 vaccination requirements with no exemptions
• Obtain and maintain appropriate clinical privileges (clinic privileges only; no rounding, admissions, or call required)
• Comply with all credentialing and privileging requirements as determined by the client facility
