Location: Must be in the area of Wahiawa, HI and within driving distance to the provided site location. Responsibilities Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with the cooperating school. Verify attendance and placement of Principal Candidate in appropriate setting. Complete two formal observations of the Principal Candidate – one at the end of the first eight weeks and another at the end of sixteen weeks. Analyze and critique immediately after each observation, identifying specific strengths and refinements, utilizing professional oral and written expression. Collaborate with the Cooperating Principal to complete Principal Candidate Midterm and Final Evaluation forms. Act as a counselor to the Principal Candidate by providing adequate individual conference time after each observation. Provide effective communication with the Cooperating Principal, Principal Candidate, and Office of Field Experience. Act as a resource person for the Principal Candidate by providing additional sources of information and being available through phone or e‑mail contact to derive workable solutions if difficulties arise. Keep adequate records on the Principal Candidate. Be knowledgeable about the assessment instrument and accurate evaluation procedures, allowing ample time for observation and assessment. The Site Supervisor may also serve as an in‑state (Hawaii) point of contact (“Program Coordinator”) and may be required, as needed, to communicate and coordinate with districts and school sites regarding placements, in addition to completing limited in‑person responsibilities to support program operations and stakeholder engagement. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Education. Current and valid Principal and/or Administrator License/Certification (K-12). Minimum of three years principal/superintendent experience OR Special Education Certified. Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
