CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENT: US Citizenship

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in IT systems analysis, administration, and support, with a focus on evaluating, installing, and troubleshooting Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software and hardware.

• 2+ years of experience in managing IT asset inventories, including maintaining COTS software license compliance in accordance with AFMAN 17-1203.

• 2+ years of experience conducting inspections, reviews, and reporting for IT acquisitions and assets, with a thorough understanding of DoDI 5000.64 & AFI 23-111 requirements.

• 2+ years of experience in life-cycle management of IT systems, including tracking system life, conducting cost analyses, and preparing for system maintenance or replacement.

• Experience in automating work processes and providing management with actionable information for addressing complex IT problems.

• Familiarity with the Air Force Inspection System (AFI 90-302) and experience as an assessor within the Management Internal Control Toolkit (MICT) is highly desirable.

POSITION OVERVIEW

• Analyze and evaluate new and commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products for their applicability and feasibility of use for personal computers, LANs, telecommunications, and networks. Install and troubleshoot software on IT assets (servers, desktops, laptops) to include COTS and government developed applications/systems.

• Maintain COTS software license inventory within IAW AFMAN 17-1203 and store evidence of all licenses in a secure location.

• Inspect all COTS software on servers and desktop computers annually to ensure there are no illegal or unauthorized copies installed.

• Manage IT acquisition & assets by conducting inspections, reviews, and report all findings in writing to the Base Equipment Custodian Officer (BECO) and COR

• Ensure all accountable assets have labels attached and the assigned computer has an AF Form 1297, Temporary Issue Receipt, as required IAW DoDI 5000.64 & AFI 23-111. Annual inventories shall have an accompanying spreadsheet noting accountable equipment location by building, room and person assigned.

• Ensure all Found on Base (FOB) assets are documented and added to the accountable inventory

• Prepare all excess assets for reuse, transfer, or disposal. Current inventory includes approximately 900 units of equipment, 300 requiring disposal actions.

• Incorporate life-cycle management principles to track life of system equipment, prepare and provide analyses to determine future maintenance and replacement costs to help justify budget submissions.

• Provide management with information necessary to address difficult and moderately complex problems in automating work processes.

• Review purchase requests. Ensure documentation is sufficient to justify enhancements necessary to keep systems current and ensure requested equipment and applications are compatible with existing infrastructure

• Function as the assessor for the program area in the MICT per AFI 90-302, The Inspector System of the Department of the Air Force.

• Assessor input to the MICT will be required quarterly for the programs IAW AFI 90-302, The Inspection System of the Department of the Air Force.
