Job Opportunity: Pediatric Gastroenterologist

Our organization is on the lookout for a dedicated full-time Pediatric Gastroenterologist to enhance our comprehensive clinical program focused on the treatment of children and adolescents with gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and nutritional disorders. Currently, our division is comprised of four experienced, Board-Certified Gastroenterologists, two full-time nutritionists, and a committed registered nurse, all supported by pediatric sub-specialists, including Pediatric Surgeons and Pediatric Radiologists.

Situated about 40 miles from New York City in West Islip, Long Island, our 537-bed teaching hospital is part of a prominent health system. The area boasts a rich cultural and historical backdrop, offering a wide array of attractions and activities. Families benefit from some of the nation’s top school districts and recreational options.

As a member of the Children's Hospital Association, we are devoted to pediatric care and the enhancement of quality services for children. With nearly 900 physicians on staff, our level 2 pediatric trauma center serves approximately 950,000 patients each year across the south shore of Long Island. We proudly operate Suffolk County's only free-standing Center for Pediatric Specialty Care, providing multi-specialty services from our Level III Neonatology Unit through to adulthood. Additionally, we have a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department, staffed around the clock by physicians trained specifically in pediatric emergency medicine.

• Assessing and managing infants, children, and adolescents with various Gastroenterology issues in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
• Supervising and mentoring medical students, interns, and residents during their rotations in the department and division.
• Upholding high standards of care for all patients.
• Encouraging high-quality, cost-effective care grounded in the latest medical evidence.
• Engaging in data collection to evaluate patient care and satisfaction.
• Staying updated on advancements in pediatrics and medical management through continuing medical education (CME), literature review, and staff conferences.
• Participating in clinical research opportunities, which are both available and encouraged.

Ideal candidates will have completed training in Pediatric Gastroenterology and hold Board Certification or be Board Eligible in this specialty. A valid New York State Physician's license is also required.

Salary Range: $250,000 - $325,000

This range is a good faith estimate; actual compensation will depend on various factors, including education, training, skills, licensure, certification, competencies, and relevant experience.
