Athletic Trainer, Center for Athletes

Overview This position is per diem and is located at Wentworth‑Douglass Hospital at our Center for Athletes in Somersworth, NH. About the Role Provide comprehensive exercise programming to a diverse range of clients ranging from competitive athletes to the active adult. Work as part of a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team environment to support post‑rehabilitation transitional programs, enhance athletic sports performance, and deliver functional training to help individuals achieve their highest potential. Essential Functions Cares for athletic injuries. Designs and implements injury rehabilitation programs. Formulates assessments and executes plans of action that best aid/fit student‑athletes' health needs and determines safe return to sport participation. Provides athletic training coverage for all home/hosted contests as described by the CCCAA bylaws. Administers emergency care and first aid. Creates and regularly updates an injury report. Ensures proper equipment use and fitting such as helmets, shoulder pads, braces, mouthpieces, tape or wraps. Maintains documents, supplies, the working environment to ensure effective and efficient functioning of the clinic. Education Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology required, or Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study required, or Master's Degree in a related field of study preferred. Licenses and Credentials Athletic Trainer NH State License required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) - National Athletic Trainers' Association preferred. Experience 0‑1 year experience working as an athletic trainer preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Provide excellent athletic training and student mentoring. Strong attention to detail. Strong planning and organizational skills. Adjust actions in relation to others' actions. Strong customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
