Account Manager

We are seeking an Account Manager to manage assigned customer accounts and ensure customer satisfaction across product, price, quality, service, and technology. Under supervision and instruction, handles as a liaison a variety of customer service, accounting, and engineering issues. Has no authority or responsibility for supervising others.

Duties

1. Ensure all engineering changes made to products are correctly priced and submitted to the customer on a timely basis by utilizing the internal systems and procedures in place for communicating changes. All pricing establishment/revisions for customer submission require a summary review with the Sales Manager or Director.

2. Meet with customers on a regular basis to review pricing and design changes submitted to ensure customer confirmation/approval of pricing.

3. Manage other areas of the account such as payments or follow-up on past-due receivables. Negotiate with the customer as needed to resolve open financial issues (e.g., freight, packaging, returned shipments of non-conforming goods). This negotiation should be subject to input from the responsible Sales Manager or Director.

4. Respond to internal information requests related to accounts such as forecasts of customer demand for products and provide updates to forecasts as needed. Provide upper management with the financial status of accounts, pricing, tooling, etc. Maintain customer contact lists and foster key customer contact relationships. Communicate customer engineering and purchasing policies to the company regarding account responsibility.

5. Expansion business opportunities – Pursue new business opportunities as identified in the approved global business bid list. For new opportunities, create an SBR and present it to the appropriate Sales Manager or Director for consideration and approval to pursue. Give customer presentations for new and existing projects/products, tech. reviews, and respond to requests for quotations.

6. Communicate frequently with engineering, sales, cost estimators, customers, and managers to ensure status relative to pricing, design, program issues, part issues, contract terms and conditions, and all other customer issues.

7. Provide appropriate customer information to support the annual and mid-term sales planning process.

8. Must follow all company requirements regarding Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.

Experience

• Have 1 to 2 years of vocational technical training or an associate degree in a related discipline, with more than 7 years of experience in a related area of responsibility. -or- If the above education requirements are not met, must have a minimum of eleven years of experience in a related area of responsibility.
• Automotive customer sales experience with Ford, GM, Honda, or Nissan, including price quotation.
• Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
• Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
• Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
