Title: Training & Development Specialist (Manufacturing Operations)

Location: San Antonio, TX
Duration: 14 Months
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Work Schedule
This role will primarily support Day Shift at the start of the assignment

Day Shift Schedule:
Beginning in early 2027, this position is required to flex to also support training deployment for Second Shift operations that will run Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM. Most training activities will occur during the earlier portion of the second shift schedule.

Occasional Friday support may be required to accommodate production recovery days, onboarding activities, or business needs.

Travel Requirement:

• This is a primarily onsite role supporting our San Antonio manufacturing operations with occasional travel to additional locations in the San Antonio area.
• Advanced Technology Center (ATC) in Elmendorf, TX
• External warehouse operations in the San Antonio area

Job Description
Join a team helping develop the workforce that powers the future of transportation. We are seeking a Training & Development Specialist to support the delivery, administration, and continuous improvement of learning programs across our manufacturing operations as we ramp up a 2nd shift for production. This position plays a key role in ensuring employees receive the training needed to perform safely, effectively, and confidently. The successful candidate will facilitate training programs, maintain training records, analyze training effectiveness, support compliance requirements, and partner with operational leaders to build workforce capability. This position will work closely with our Learning & Development Manager and will report to the Sr. Site HR Manager.

Training Delivery & Facilitation

• Facilitate classroom, virtual, and hands-on training programs for manufacturing employees, supervisors, and leaders.
• Deliver compliance, technical, operational, and leadership development training.
• Support onboarding and workforce development initiatives for new hires.
• Adapt training delivery methods to accommodate different learning styles and operational requirements.
• Assist in the coordination and deployment of large-scale training initiatives across multiple shifts.

Learning Program Administration

• Maintain employee training records and learning documentation.
• Coordinate course scheduling, enrollment, attendance tracking, and completion reporting.
• Leverage Learning Management System (LMS) tools to manage training assignments, completions, and learner records.
• Ensure training data is accurate, current, and audit-ready.

Training Analytics & Continuous Improvement

• Conduct training needs assessments in partnership with business leaders.
• Analyze training participation, completion rates, learner feedback, and effectiveness metrics.
• Administer surveys and evaluate learning outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare regular reports and dashboards regarding training compliance and workforce readiness.
• Recommend and implement enhancements to training programs based on data and operational feedback.

Program Development Support

• Assist in designing, updating, and improving facilitator guides, lesson plans, job aids, and training materials.
• Support implementation of new learning initiatives and curriculum updates.
• Coordinate with external vendors and training partners as needed.
• Partner with operational leaders to align learning solutions with business goals and workforce needs.

Stakeholder Partnership

• Collaborate with Human Resources, Operations, Safety, Quality, Manufacturing, and other functional teams.
• Serve as a trusted resource regarding learning processes, tools, and training requirements.
• Support leadership development and employee capability-building initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Education / Experience

• Looking for trainers in Manufacturing Operations and experience in Instructional Design.

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of learning, training, talent development, education, workforce development, or related experience

OR

• Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Learning & Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business, or related field

OR

• At least 3 years of learning, training, workforce development, education, or related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience facilitating training programs in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, logistics, or production environment.
• Experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS).
• Experience tracking and reporting training metrics.
• Experience conducting training needs assessments.
• Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Experience creating training materials, job aids, and instructional content.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles.
• Experience analyzing survey data and training effectiveness metrics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other reporting tools.

The interview process will be as follows:

• 1st Round:
  • 30-minute manager screening via Teams with Nikki Ramirez
• 2nd Round:
  • 1-hour onsite interview with Crystal & Doug Sleigh
  • Include 10-15 min presentation (will follow up on this request)
  • 1-hour plant tour with Crystal
  • 30-minute wrap-up with Crystal and Nikki Ramirez
