Senior Accountant

In order to accomplish this, the Finance Department commits to providing accurate and complete payroll data for internal and external use by the Executive Team and the Board of Directors. Responsibilities Senior Accountant responsibilities: Work on all aspects of the general ledger and month-end close process. Must be analytical, organized, and willing to learn and challenge themselves in a dynamic environment. Adapt quickly to change and champion the advancement of policies, structure, procedures, and controls that will enhance the accounting/finances. Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and relevant supporting schedules. Analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts monthly; prepare related schedules. Maintain TRF schedule; prepare TRF release journal entries. Maintain Fixed Assets records and depreciation. Review security deposits and prepare journal entries when lease expires. Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments journal entries. Prepare monthly insurance allocations. Prepare monthly Agency admin allocations. Assist with year-end audit preparation and various grant audits. Assist with accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data. Responsible for ongoing projects as per request of Assistant Controller, Controller and/or senior management. Key Performance Standards Problem-solving skills – Ability to be creative and analytical. Examine issues and data and search for inconsistencies, reconcile inconsistencies and recommend then implement solutions. Math skills – Ability to use math to calculate data and ensure accuracy. Work with numbers and perform calculations with minimal error. Communication skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills – Ability to remain calm in stressful situations; treat colleagues with respect and collaborate to enable success. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Minimum five (5) years of accounting experience in a non-profit organization. Proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUP), MS Word and Outlook. Experience in Serenic Navigator (or similar ERP system). Possess critical thinking, analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality results. #J-18808-Ljbffr AscendHire
