School Occupational Therapist Assistant
The School Occupational Therapist Assistant role supports school occupational therapy services, assisting students in achieving functional goals and promoting independence. This 36-week contract in Surprise, AZ offers competitive pay up to $47/hr and the opportunity to work in a team-focused educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized education plans
- Conduct therapeutic activities to improve students' motor skills
- Document progress and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to support student goals
- Adapt interventions to meet diverse student needs
- Support classroom accommodations and assistive technology
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences
- Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements
- Provide support during classroom transitions
- Assist with equipment setup and maintenance
- Educate students on self-advocacy and independence
- Follow safety protocols and health guidelines
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in occupational therapy or related field (or 60+ credits of transcripts)
- Valid Arizona Occupational Therapy Assistant license (OTA/L)
- Valid Arizona Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license (COTA)
- Minimum one year of experience assisting occupational therapists
- Valid driver's license
- Arizona Identity Verified Prints Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Social Security Card
- Ability to work a regular day schedule and demonstrate strong teamwork in a school setting
