Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medication, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Essential functions:

Delivers medications to designated areas accurately and efficiently, including consolidating trips and recognizing priorities
Fills stock, unit dose medications, medication orders accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner taking into account specific patient needs
Stocks shelves and medication bins and all areas of the pharmacy
Conducts IV preparation functions according to departmental processes using sterile technique
Record waste
Answer phone and determine order status; triage calls for appropriate resolution

Requirements:

CA Pharmacy Technician from the CA Board of Pharmacy is required.
Previous hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
