JOB SUMMARY

*DOD TOP SECRET/SSBI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED*

The Civil Designer is responsible for preparing detailed drawings, exhibits, renderings, and designs to support civil and environmental engineering projects, requiring a DOD Top Secret/SSBI Security Clearance. Typical design projects include underground utilities, drainage, grading, utility improvement plans, roads, and facilities. This role involves working closely with the project team to produce accurate and effective design documents that meet project specifications and support the successful execution of engineering projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design Development and Drafting: Independently creates templates, blocks, sheet sets, and comprehensive design packages. Prepares plans under the supervision of an engineer, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.

• Project Calculations and Estimation: Estimates quantities and performs basic calculations to support project planning and design accuracy. Provides detailed design insights that contribute to the project’s success.

• Research and Information Gathering: Assists in conducting research studies and gathering information necessary for specific design projects. Ensures that all relevant data is available and organized for project team use.

• File Management and Documentation: Organizes and maintains files related to designs, plans, and project progression. Facilitates easy access to project information for the Project Manager and team members, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.

• Proficiency in 3D Modeling and Design Software: Maintains advanced skills in 3D design and modeling using Autodesk AutoCAD and other industry-standard software. Continuously updates skills to incorporate cutting-edge techniques into project work.

Qualifications

COMPETENCIES / SKILLS

• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and CAD Software

• Expertise in Engineering Support and Technical Drafting

• Knowledge of Mechanical Drawing principles

• Strong organizational and documentation skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma

• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a civil designer

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATION

• DOD Top Secret/SSBI Security Clearance required

• Work Hours: Standard office hours with a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines and work/life balance. Weekend and extended work hours may occasionally be required based on project needs.
