Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and plan and implement appropriate treatment based on evaluation results
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, including team conferences, and collaborate with other team members to provide optimal patient care
• Complete discharge planning for each patient, including placement recommendations, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment issuance and training
• Complete all required documentation, including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, and discharge disposition, in accordance with department policies and timelines
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), OT and COTA students, and assist with new staff orientation
• Maintain flexibility in patient scheduling and provide appropriate coverage information for planned absences; 2 weekend days worked every four weeks and holiday assistance expected

Required Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure in the state of Ohio
• Ability to assess patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and administer appropriate evaluation procedures
• Demonstrated ability to supervise COTAs and students competently
• Strong commitment to patient safety, employee safety, and infection control practices
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members at varying levels of understanding

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in an interdisciplinary or team-based care environment
• Familiarity with safe patient handling techniques and materials handling protocols
• Experience with continuous quality improvement initiatives and documentation of quality assurance activities
