About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Accountability for their actions. Knowledge of cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, Cardizem). Description: The unit consists of 24 beds with 43 staff. Staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 8 RNs on each shift. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:3. Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Hillrom, iMobile with Apple, and telemetry. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. The most recruited skill set includes great communication between patients and the interdisciplinary team. Preferred candidates should have 6 months of PCU experience. Typical procedures performed include post CABG, AVR/MVR, aortic root repairs, LVAD, immediate post VATS, post-vascular surgeries, and pre/post catheter lab and EP procedures. Bedside procedures include paracentesis, thoracentesis, and PICC insertion. The ideal candidate should possess a caring demeanor and be a great team player. Weekends involve working 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule.
