Job Summary

The AR Specialist II independently manages insurance and patient follow-up for physician billing, including denial resolution, payment reconciliation, and financial documentation. This role requires prior billing experience and proficiency in identifying and resolving payer-related issues.

Essential Functions

• Analyze insurance denials and rejections and process appeals as needed.
• Troubleshoot account issues, including demographic discrepancies and authorization concerns.
• Process and reconcile refund requests and banking deposits.
• Review and interpret EOBs for proper payment posting.
• Collaborate with accounting and management to resolve issues.
• Maintain documentation and perform claim resubmissions.  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

• Advanced knowledge of insurance denial management.
• Ability to trend and report recurring issues.
• Skilled in EMR navigation and HIPAA compliance.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Licenses/Certifications

• None required

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of physician billing experience.
• Experience with Rural Health Clinic or Provider-Based Billing preferred but not required.
