Summary:

Production Supervisor directly supervisors and assigns personnel within the Production Department. Coordinate production activity in a manner that results in the production of quality products in a safe manner. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and productive work environment and ensure employees follow all safety policies and procedures. 
• Successfully lead shift production team to meet/exceed budget.
• Record and track both hourly production and associated downtime root causes.
• Ensure shift production team is properly trained, understand accountabilities and equipped for success. 
• Work effectively with production team to resolve personnel issues while partnering with Plant Management.
• Seek ways to improve equipment productivity and efficiency: yield, rate, and uptime. 
• Notify Lead Maintenance Technician of any equipment related issues or problems.
• Notify site Management of any production related issues or problems.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 
• Responsible for managing the disciplinary process of supervisors and production employees

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

• Minimum of 5 years production shift lead experience in a manufacturing /industrial environment is required.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Mechanical aptitude is required.
• Forklift and Skid Steer experience is preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all employees in the facility, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to solve problems in a timely, professional manner 
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and respond with appropriate sense of urgency
• Excellent detail, organizational and follow-through skills
• Understanding of OSHA regulations and implementation of safety regulations
• Strong willingness to work hard, reliable, attentive and attention to detail
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.

 

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

 

The work environment characteristics & physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The plant environment will include, extreme cold and heat (weather related).

• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
• Working near moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk; use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl.
