About the Opportunity Start Date: September 1st, 2026 Length of Fellowship: 10 months Location Type: Hybrid (1 day/week on‑site) Are you passionate about tackling climate challenges and driving sustainability solutions? As a Program Associatein the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful climate resiliency initiatives with Snohomish County PUD. This is a hybrid position with the expectation of onsite work 1 day per week, with occasional evenings and weekends expected. In this role, you’ll support Snohomish County PUD’s commercial customers with energy management, including organizational and technical projects that contribute to statewide sustainability goals. In addition to hands‑on experience, Fellows will receive training through the Building Operator Certification (BOC) program, gaining specialized training in building systems maintenance and energy efficiency. You’ll collaborate with the Energy Services department, gaining hands‑on experience and making a tangible difference in the sustainability sector. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop your professional skills, grow your network, and contribute to Snohomish County PUD's sustainability goals. What You’ll Do Assist customers in developing and implementing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) plans and Energy Management plans (EMP) as required by the WA Clean Buildings Performance Standard, including items like developing an employee engagement plan or building a site’s internal energy management program. Support customers with implementing Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs). Support development of Program Health Dashboard. Lead outreach for Clean Buildings Tier 2 customer support. What We Provide A fixed, monthly stipend of $5000. $1000 end‑of‑program financial award. Health care coverage with 100% of health care insurance premiums covered by SEI. 10 Personal Days (for a standard 10‑month Fellowship), in addition to all holidays off that are observed as closure days by the partner placement site. Comprehensive career‑readiness training, including interview prep, salary negotiation, and resume building. Panels, workshops, and networking with climate resilience industry professionals, including attendance at the NW SEM Fall Workshop. Professional networking and learning opportunities. Participation in the Building Operator Certification series. Green Building Practicum training. The University of California Climate Stewards Certification equips you to lead community and ecosystem resilience initiatives. What We’re Looking For Coursework, training, or experience in fields related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, data analysis, or building efficiency. Strong collaboration skills. Interact well with others; ability to find areas of mutual interest and establish and build relationships with others. Be an organized self‑starter and have excellent time management skills; be effective at moving things forward independently without supervision. High attention to detail with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects. Ability to format, design, and edit documents and reports in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Strong communication skills (writing, correspondence, speaking). Flexible and productive. Ability to juggle multiple tasks and be productive when working with other team members. The ability to work onsite on a hybrid basis. Only candidates currently residing within commuting distance of the site address will be considered. Climate Corps Fellowships are classified under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) as temporary, educational internships that emphasize training and career development, and thus no employment relationship exists, nor is compensation required. However, while not considered traditional employment, Fellows receive a living stipend and professional development support throughout the program.
