Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 18 months in nursing. License: Must have a valid state license in hand prior to start. Temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license applications have been submitted. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Solid neuro experience. Experience in MS/Tele or PCU RNs is preferred. Description: This is a mixed acuity unit composed of both medical surgical and progressive levels of care. The unit provides care in various specialties including oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary. We manage unstable strokes and provide BiPap support. Patient ratios are 1:5-6 for medical-surgical patients and 1:3-4 for progressive care unit patients. Nursing responsibilities include managing cardiac drips, insulin drips, and various medication protocols. Nurses will be involved in accessing and managing ports, central line care, and blood product administration. The ideal candidate should be comfortable interpreting dysrhythmias and managing vasoactive drips without titration. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team, including therapy, social services, and pharmacy. Floating to other areas within the facility or affiliated hospitals may be required. Candidates must work two out of three major holidays. Previous charge experience is preferred. Candidates should be adaptable and willing to engage in diverse patient care across multiple acuity levels.
